How did Liz's authentic Spanish cuisine start?

Growing up as a child I can remember my father cooking his favorite dishes such as carne guisada con arroz blanco y habichuelas (beef stew with white rice and beans) Arroz con pollo (rice with chicken) empanadas con carne molida (Spanish beef patties) and so much more. The house would smell so good with all those authentic Spanish flavors all mixed in harmony. I learned how to cook at the age of 9 years old watching my father, and that's where I became passionate about cooking. 

Now I want to be able to bring back all those authentic flavors of Puerto Rico through my cooking and keep my father's memories of "La Isla Del Encanto" alive!
